I I became interested in the guitar at age 12 because my older brother played guitar in a local band and I really looked up to him and what he was doing. At that time, everything seemed guitar or guitar-hero oriented. I couldn't get enough of the guitar. I was hooked!

Originally, I worked at a music store that went out of business. I applied at two other local stores, but neither would hire me because I only knew guitars. No pianos or band instruments for me! I decided to open my own shop in 1982 and started out by putting my own personal collection of 17 guitars up for sale. I took every dime I made selling and invested it in more guitars. I didn't draw a paycheck from the business for the first five years.

Today, my personal collection consists of over 300 guitars and about 100 amps. The guitars are largely Fender - mostly custom-color Strats, 50's and 60's Teles and various other pre-70's models, including Gibson, Gretsch and Rickenbackers. All of my amps are Fenders.

My favorite guitarists are Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana and Robert Cray. My favorite guitar of all time is the Strat - particularly a 50's two-tone with a maple neck. As for amps, my favorite is an 80's The Twin.
