"The Custom Flat for Strat is a specially overwound single-coil that strikes the perfect balance between increased output, and bouncy Stratocaster tonal character. Your single notes will sound bold, and your solos will really sing. The middle position Custom Flat RWRP for Stratocaster uses the same flat hand-ground Alnico 5 rod magnets and special high-output coil winding as the standard version, but is made reverse wound/reverse polarity to provide noiseless operation when combined with the neck or bridge pickups in positions 2 and 4. On its own, it will give you the same balanced, beefed up, and punchy tone as the standard wound model."
