From Bourgeois:

"The Bourgeois M5 Mandolin in Sunburst represents the perfect marriage of traditional aesthetics and contemporary craftsmanship. Available in A-Style and F-Style, this stunning addition to the acclaimed M5 Series brings a whole new visual dimension while maintaining the exceptional tonal qualities that define Bourgeois instruments.

At the heart of the M5 lies a hand-carved, torrefied Aged Tone Adirondack spruce top that delivers the warm, mature sound typically found only in vintage instruments. The torrefaction process ages the wood naturally, creating an instrument that sounds like it’s been played for decades from day one. Complementing this exceptional soundboard are torrefied European maple back, sides, and neck that provide brilliant projection and sustain while adding visual elegance with their striking figured grain patterns.

The Sunburst finish evokes the golden age of American mandolin craftsmanship, offering players a connection to iconic music traditions while delivering the reliability and playability expected from a modern instrument. Unlike most modern sunbursts created with sprayed finishes, Bourgeois mandolins use traditional hand-applied, waterbased stains that blend directly into the wood. This method enhances the natural “chatoyance”—a shimmering reflectivity of figured maple and carved tops—causing colors to shift and dance under changing light. This finish beautifully highlights the natural beauty of the figured maple, creating an instrument that’s as visually stunning as it is sonically impressive."

Testimonials

★★★★★

We had a GREAT experience. Raina helped us and we were there buying a guitar for my daughter. We didn't know anything and she was mindful of budget, never made us feel stupid and explained everything clearly. I would happily refer friends.

I took a student of mine to get his first guitar...a PRS SE Custom 24. We drove 3 hours to the guitar mecca of Wisconsin. Big shout out to Brett, Jordan, Christian, Brandon and Dave. I also took my student to see the collection upstairs and Dave was kind enough to answer some trivia questions concerning the PRS collection. Great experience, worth the travel. Thanks and Rawk on!
